The Corrections Record

We will get things wrong. When we do, we correct them here: promptly, in the open, and with the original error described rather than erased. A publication that never corrects anything is not careful. It is hiding. Our standards live on the Methodology and Four-Tier Verification pages.

No corrections have been issued to date. When one is, it will appear here in full, with the original error described and the correction stated plainly.

How to flag an error

If you believe something we published is inaccurate, tell us. Send the specific claim, the piece it appeared in, and the evidence you believe contradicts it. We read every substantive challenge to our reporting and respond to those that identify a factual error. Accuracy is not a favor we do for readers. It is the entire point.

Never stop connecting the dots.
